Another New Year

My first post on 2012 was written during my flight back to Singapore on the second of January. Yet, tomorrow (less than three weeks since my first flight) I'm about to fly back to Jakarta for another new year! hahahaha. It's Chinese New Year. Last year was year of rabbit (my year, so guess how old am I already :p) and this coming new year is the year of water dragon.

You know the say last year was not a good year for Rabbit but I don't want to really believe in such sayings. I only want to believe in good things haha. I think people's life will aways have ups and downs. I choose to believe that way. When God allows you to face difficulties, He wil give you the bigger joy than all your problems (but yeah of course sometimes as human, it's so hard for us to understand it). I believe that this year, dragon year, will be a better year for us.

Okay, enough said. In the end I would like to share the story of the word "福“， fu. The word we much see on the red envelope. You can read the whole story from here.
Below, I quote some of the main point:

The right half of "福" (fú) (meaning blessedness) may be reduced to "一口田" (yī kǒu tián), which means literally, 'one mouth [and] padi-field.' One who has a padi-field to provide for himself can be happy. But this happiness is temporary and partial. A buffalo can have the same level of happiness if it is given a field to graze in.

True blessedness goes beyond the emotional feeling of happiness.

The left half of "福" (fú), "礻" (shì), which means 'God', gives the answer to true blessedness. In addition to being materially satisfied, one needs God in order to be truly blessed.

True blessedness is an everlasting joy that comes about because our sins are forgiven and we have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Cool is it? Knowing how much a chinese character means. hehe.

My First Sunset of 2012

I was on a plane waiting to take off to Singapore. On my first flight in 2012, I felt like a child who's very excited to get on a plane for the first time. This time, I got to sit in a window seat. Yeah! *I know it's an unnecessary excitement* I took some pictures with my iPod. And this is the result, I took snapshots of my first sunset in 2012. Which is quite ironic because I haven't seen any sunrise in 2012 hahaha. Hopefully I get to see sunrise in the same month (or year :p) as I see this sunset.


So one of my goal this year is to be able to catch the sunrise haha. Sounds simple, but waking up before the sunrise IS a challenge for me. Let's see if I can make it. it's only more than 360 days remaining in 2012 anyway. - Abeth on BlogPress from her iPod

2011 in a glance

I'm writing this short note within two and half hours of countdown to the new year 2011.
The best phrase to describe this year for me is: " what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger"
Not that I'm saying that I had worse year than yours cause I believe that everyone had their own battle, it's just by far, the toughest year I had. On the other side, I learned a lot through the tough times this 2011.

I gained weight, lost weight *I just have to put this one first :p*

Taken six months long of continuous medicine and thank God I can recover from the things that made me taken all those pills.

I went through a very personal breakdown but thankfully I managed to recover slowly.

I had my longest hair since I was born and managed to cut it this tuesday.

I've taken the most airplane ride that I think I would have for the next following years of my life.

This year is also the last year that I become a bridal party member.

Through all of these (maybe some I forget to mention) made me realized that there's no way I can get through this crazy year without His strength's and guidance. The experiences this year also leads me to be more sure of what I want to achieve in 2012. There's no such things as coincidence, it's already written in His hands. So thank you Lord for 2011 and please bless us in everything that we plan for 2012.
